Check-In closes at the below times on both our Cairnryan to Larne and Larne to Cairnryan routes:

Vehicles / Motorcycles: 30 mins before departure time.

Foot Passengers: 45 mins before departure time.

Pets: 45 mins before departure time.

Special Assistance Passengers: 60 mins before departure time.

You must ensure you arrive BEFORE these cut off times.

Please be advised these are the latest times you can arrive at Check-In AFTER security. Therefore, we encourage you to allow for plenty of time to pass through security checks and allow for busy traffic during peak periods.

Before leaving for the port, please make sure that you’ve checked out our port page and our Cairnryan to Larne ferry timetable for directions and ferry times so you can leave yourself plenty of time to pass through security to Check-In, as the port area can get busy during peak times.

Larne Terminal is open 24/7 (except overnight Saturdays 22:30 to Sundays 05:30).

When you arrive at the port our friendly staff will be on hand to direct you to where you need to go, get you checked in and direct you onto the ship once boarding commences.

Please make sure you have a look at what area you’re parked in, as each deck zone has been allocated a colour, this will help you find your way back to the vehicle at the end of the crossing.

An announcement will be made when you need to return to your car to leave our Cairnryan to Larne ferry. When you get to your car, please don’t turn your engine on until you’re asked to do so. Our friendly staff members will direct you off the ship and then you are ready to start discovering Northern Ireland.

Larne port has great road infrastructure supporting it, meaning when you drive off the ship the options are endless. Travelling in your car couldn’t be easier with popular tourist destinations such as the magnificent Causeway Coastline close by and Belfast being a 30 minute drive away from the port.
