You must ensure you arrive BEFORE these cut off times. All times are shown in local time.

Please be advised these are the latest times you can arrive at Check-In AFTER security. Therefore, we encourage you to allow for plenty of time to pass through security checks and allow for busy traffic during peak periods.

Travelling to Europe with us from 12 October 2025? There’ll be a new EU border system you need to know about - the Entry/Exit System (EES), which replaces manual passport stamping for travellers heading to Schengen countries.

What’s changing?

The EES is a new digital border control system being introduced across the EU. Instead of getting your passport stamped, you may have your fingerprint and a photo taken the first time you travel after 12 October.

Once registered, your record is valid for up to 3 years, so for future trips, you’ll just need a quick fingerprint or photo check.

What to expect with P&O Ferries

• Before travel, there’s nothing to do - simply bring your passport as usual.

• Board as usual.

• First trip since 12 October 2025, you may be required to register your fingerprint and photo at the port on arrival in Europoort. You will be directed on disembarkation. 

• Any trip thereafter will simply require a quick ID check using your fingerprint or photo.

Travelling with a caravan or motorhome from England to the Netherlands gives you the freedom to go wherever you want, without the added cost of paying for a hotel!

If you’re interested in art, head to beautiful Rotterdam, just a 30 minute drive when you get off the ferry, to see some incredible architecture.

Or visit Utrecht if you want to see a traditional medieval city.

Of course, no trip to Holland is complete without visiting the liberal capital of Amsterdam either!

Wherever you go, you’re sure to find something you enjoy.

Make sure you select the correct option for your vehicle when making your booking.

You’ll also need to include the right size, for example, you’ll need to calculate the extra length and height of your caravan attached to your car.

Before setting off it’s a good idea to double check that your travel and breakdown insurance covers you (and any other passengers who are doing some of the driving) for travelling with a caravan or motorhome in Europe.

You should also make sure to get all your vehicles fully serviced before you travel.

Bringing your caravan or motorhome across the North Sea couldn’t be easier.

Simply follow the signs for Passport Control at the port, after which you’ll be handed a card to hang from your rear view mirror when you check-in.

Our friendly members of staff will direct you into the correct lane and onto the ship in due time.

Top tip: the crossing could be rough, so please make sure you’ve disabled your car alarm once onboard – if it goes off during the night this will wake up both passengers and staff.

Before heading up to the passenger deck you should make a note of the colour of the staircase you use so you can easily find your way back to your vehicle when we reach Europort.

Now it’s time for you to sit back, relax in your cabin or enjoy all the entertainment there is to offer.

There will be an announcement made when it is time to return to your vehicle near the end of the crossing*.

As soon as our staff tell you it is fine to do so, turn on your engines and carefully drive off the ship.

Now once you get through Passport Control you’re free to start your Dutch adventure!

*Be advised that disembarkation starts approximately 15min after arrival time. Please be aware of this when planning your onward journey

In addition to the freedom that travelling with a caravan or motorhome offers, you will also be able to bring as much luggage as you can fit into your vehicle.

This is great if you’re on a family trip, or simply want to stock up in our onboard shop and need the extra space when travelling on our Ferry from Hull to Rotterdam!

When driving in Europe you are required to have a European Driving Kit, which includes the following items:

• Reflective jackets for each occupant
• Warning triangle
• Headlamp beam deflectors
• Breathalysers/alcohol test
• GB sticker
• Spare bulbs
• Snow chains
